“The decision of International Court of Justice over Kosovo can have impact in the regions with similar problems”, the head of Republican faction Galust Sahakyan told reporters today.
According to the MP, The Hague Court ruling on Kosovo is first of all a result of a political decision, pointing to the directions Armenia could use to derive benefits from the Kosovo precedent, anyhow, the decision can’t have any impact on Karabakh conflict.

According to the MP, The Hague Court ruling on Kosovo is first of all a result of a political decision, pointing to the directions Armenia could use to derive benefits from the Kosovo precedent.

“The world according to the fisrt American statement uses dual standards to resolve similar issues: Kosovo can do it while other countries cannot. That’s why I ask not to feel inspired; Karabakh had deeper grounds, than others, including Kosovo.”

According to Galust Sahakyan the court’s decision gave a chance for the Armenian side to make some judicial and political changes in disposition and to put it “on right roads.” “Some changes will be made in our diplomat corps. The ruling enables our diplomatic corps to think of launching a process of accepting Artsakh independence or recognizing Karabakh as a subject of international law when negotiating with other countries, what would mean that Karabakh can have representative offices in all countries,” he mentioned. Galust Sahakyan also reminded that Armenia will keep looking for ways of conflict resolution within the framework of OSCE.
