Azerbaijani military doctrine sees Iran as a threat, Head of Trend news agency Persian desk Dalga Khatinoglu said in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

“I have studied Azerbaijan’s military doctrine and many articles and provisions of the doctrine indirectly refer to Iran. I think, taking into consideration the comments on the provisions of the doctrine, the corpus of Islamic Revolution preservers is seen as a threat to the national security of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” Khatinoglu said, Panorama.am reported.

Speaking about allocation of military bases in Azerbaijan by other states, he said: “Azerbaijani military doctrine has such a provision taking into account the threat of possible creation of a nuclear weapon by Iran. In this case Azerbaijan will address the US, NATO, and Israel to allocate military bases in Azerbaijan.”
