Concert dedicated to the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide took place in Lithuania

On April 17, a concert, dedicated to the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide was held in Kaunas, organized by the Embassy of Armenia in Lithuania and on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia. Press and information department of the RA Foreign Ministry informs about this.

President of the Lithuanian Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Sigitas Tamkevičius, Vice Foreign Minister of Lithuania Andrus Krivas, Mayor of Kaunas Visvaldas Matijošaitis, vice-mayor Vasilijus Popovas, politicians and public figures, diplomats, prominent musicians, journalists, academia, intelligentsia, as well as numerous representatives of Armenian community of Lithuania attended the concert.

Under the baton of prominent Lithuanian conductor Juozas Domarkas, symphonic orchestra and special invited soloists (violist Hayk Kazazyan(Armenia), trumpeter Thomas Krichyus (Lithuania) and tenor Liparit Avetisyan (Armenia)) performed works by Sayat-Nova, Komitas, Aram Khachaturian, Aleksandr Harutyunyan, Giacomo Puccini and Francesco Cilea.
