President of Cyprus: Both Armenia and Cyprus are victims of impunity

The President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades delivered a speech in Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide memorial on April 24, noting that histories of Armenia and Cyprus are interconnected, ArmenianGenocide100.org web-site informs about this referring to News.am reports.

“We are here today to pay tribute to the memory of the [Armenian Genocide] victims together with the Armenian people,” Anastasiades said.

He added that the presence of each and everyone at this memorial aims to keep the memory of the victims alive, showing that the crime cannot remain unpunished.

“Both Armenia and Cyprus are victims of impunity. It is high time for historical facts to be recognized, as this will also contribute to the normalization of relations with the neighboring country. Remembering the Great Calamity, paying tribute to the strength of the survivors is very important. We remember and demand!” the Cypriot President concluded.
