CSTO reacts to developments around Karabakh-secretary general

Nikolay Bordyuzha, secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) made a statement that CSTO always adequately reacts to developments around Karabakh during a video conference aired live.

Asked by Tert.am what prevents the CSTO to make specifically addressed statement to Azerbaijan which periodically provokes agression along its ally country’s state border and whether the failure to react to the repeated use of heavy weaponry does not disrepute the organization, Borduzha replied,

“When I last visited Armenia, I submitted a list of statements made by the CSTO countries’ leaders and foreign ministers to address the situation in the Caucasus.

When representatives of different Armenian media outlets ask me why the CSTO doesn’t react to that, I always feel kind of surprised.

So it is important to get familiarized to the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s statements, which are made every year, as well as the ministers’ statements which necessarily address the situation in the Caucasus.”

He added that the escalation along the border between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh is impermissible.

He added that the situation affects the organization’s reputation.

The CSTO has reacted, reacts and will keep reacting to all similar incidents that influence the allies’ security.
