Serzh Sargsyan appoints new head of Armenian National Security Service

Georgy Kutoyan, the new head of the Armenian National Security Service (NSS), has been appointed by Armenia’s president.

Kutoyan, who holds PhD Candidate’s degree in Legal Sciences, earlier served at the Prosecutor General’s Office as the head of a scientific-educational center and later – as a prosecutor at the Department of Legal and Structural Reforms.

The former head of the Service Gorik Hakobyan, who held the office for about 12 years, was dismissed from post under a decree signed earlier.
