Moscow comforts Baku not to fight on several fronts

Political scientist Alexander Manasyan does not rule out the fact that Russia may change its mind over the military operations in Syria, which will definitely escalate the Russian-Turkish relations.

Aleandr Manasyan noted that the West is doing its best to leave the operations against Turkey on Russia’s shoulders, which is proved by the French President Francois Hollande’s statement saying that the situation in Syria may unleash a war between Russia and Turkey.

“If Turkey launches large-scale operations, Russia will definitely resort to land operations in Syria,” he added at the meeting with reporters.

In this context, Alexander Manasyan hinted that the issues will arise in terms of the Moscow and Kars treaties, if confrontation breaks out between Russia and Turkey, proceeded by the cancellation of the Russian-Turkish agreement.

The expert notes that the Russian Communist MPs raise the issue of cancellation of the contract, which means that it is regarded to be legitimate.

“The direction of the political and legal questions voiced over the document will radically change, if the provision of the document being incompetent is adopted.

Indeed, if the treaty was signed with violation of the international law, if it is illegal in that context, we should demand the recognition of the document’s incompetence not the cancelation.

This fact should be taken into consideration by those experts who substantiate the illegitimacy of the document at the same time demanding its cancellation while delivering the same speech,” he noted.
