Russia and Belarus generally share Armenia’s approaches-Sharmazanov

On March 11-12 the CSTO PA Council session, chaired by CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin is to be held in Yerevan.

RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov is also to deliver a speech at the session.

But before the session, Eduard Sharmazanov at the meeting with reporters ensured that the remarks of the President will not be unanswered, which proves the relatively calm situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

“Of course there are issues, as some CSTO member countries express stances that do not stem not only from Armenia’s but also from CSTO’s interests.

We do not accept our partners’ passive displays but one thing is obvious: Armenia’s membership to the CSTO is justified and stems from our interests,” Sharmazanov noted.

Here he found it necessary to emphasize that Russian and Belarusian delegations generally share Armenia’s stances and approaches, even in closed discussions.
