Overall approach of members of CSTO important in terms of regional security- Bordyuzha

OSCE PA held a working meeting of the delegations of the CSTO member states.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the CSTO member states – Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Serbia.

As reported the RA NA Public and Media Relations Department, head of the Armenian delegation to OSCE PA Artashes Geghamyan, welcoming the guests in the National Assembly, addressed the CSTO PA participation in the OSCE PA winter session in Vienna on February 25-26, 2016.

Summing up the achievements and activities of the delegation in the CSTO PA winter session, Artashes Geghamyan stressed the importance of cooperation between the CSTO member states and unification of the forces.

Artashes Geghamyan pointed out that it is important to demonstrate a unified approach to solving geopolitical problems facing member countries in the summer session which is to be held on July 1-5 in Tbilisi.

CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha discussed the coordination of the foreign policy of the CSTO member states.

Nikolai Bordyuzha stressed the importance of a common approach to regional security and cooperation on the international arena over these issues.

According to the CSTO Secretary General, bilateral meetings of international forums give the opportunity to coordinate joint actions, the exchange of information and can significantly increase the efficiency of the activities of the member states.

Nikolai Bordyuzha said that the cooperation between the CSTO member states needs to be raised to a new level, with emphasis on the heads of delegations of the countries chairing the structure.

The head of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the CSTO PA permanent delegation Milovan Drecun referred to the Serbian chairmanship in the OSCE.

Mr. Drecun presented the existing problems and achievements during Serbia’s presidency.

At the end of the meeting, topics, which are to be discussed at the summer session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Tbilisi, were under consideration by the representatives of the delegations of the CSTO member states.
