The #KarabakhNow | Against International Inactivity protest will take place at Republic Square
The four-day conflict unleashed along the NKR border by Azerbaijan in the early morning hours
of April 2, and the subsequent fragile ceasefire agreement has not clarified a vision for the resolution of the conflict. During the military operations, the international community and particularly institutions and states involved in the mediating efforts displayed criminal silence and a similarly criminal impartiality among the Armenian, Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani sides. In this regard, a group of citizens of the Republic of Armenia, who were spearheading the dissemination of accurate information on a variety of social media platforms to counter Azerbaijani propaganda, noting the sentiments among Armenians online, decided to organize a protest against states and international institutions involved in the process for their weak diplomacy. Once the event was announced on Facebook, there has been tremendous activity and interest and the event continues to gain momentum. By the evening of April 8 there were already 4000 potential attendees and around 30 000 invitees.
The protest coincides with the official visit of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs to Yerevan; however, the event is targeted at Russia, the USA, France, Israel, CSTO, EEU, PACE, Council of Europe, OSCE institutions and other countries.
The #KarabakhNow | Against International Inactivity protest will take place at 15:00 on April 9,
2016 at Republic Square.
