C. Ashton will inform the EU council about talks with Iran

European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton is set to brief the European Union Council on the latest talks held between Iran and the six major world powers in Geneva on Tehran’s nuclear program. As IRNA writes, it was reported on Saturday about this.

Ashton would present a report in a session attended by EU foreign ministers in Luxemburg.

The 8th round of negotiations between Iran and G5+1 ended in Vienna on Thursday (Oct 16).

The Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Ashton jointly led the negotiations.

The 8th round of talks between Iran and the Sextet began on Tuesday with a round of talks among the deputies of Zarif, US Secretary of State John Kerry and Ashton, followed by a round of talks between the Iranian and US technicians.

Zarif and Ashton then had a bilateral talk, followed by talks in the presence of their deputies over a working dinner.
