Armenian translation of Study Manual about Holocaust is presented at the AGMI

On October 18 the presentation of the Armenian translation of Study Manual about Holocaust in the former territory of the USSR took place at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. AGMI official web-site informs about this.  

The presentation was followed by a scientific-practical seminar titled “The issues of teaching the Armenian Genocide and Holocaust in schools”. At the seminar their lectures held Alla Herber (the Director of Holocaust Foundation, member of the first convocation of Russian State Duma), Tatiana Basman (Methodist in the sphere of qualification improvement of education sector employees at Pskov University), Natalia Anisisna (senior fund keeper of Jewish Heritage and Holocaust Museum, Moscow) as well as other specialists in the field.

The have discussed the following issues: the provided information about the Holocaust in Armenian school textbooks, ethno-cultural and educational issues of the Holocaust history, similarities and differences between the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust.

The scientific-practical seminar was attended by teachers who participated in the summer school “How to Teach the Topic of the Armenian Genocide” organized in 30-31 July 2014, by the center of regional and political studies “Prospectus” NGO, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and the Youth Foundation of Armenia as a partner organization of RA president. During the round-table discussion of the seminar the participants exchanged their experience about teaching the Armenian Genocide and Jewish Holocaust.
