Iranian media: Both Iran and the P5+1 have no alternative but come to a nuclear deal

Iran and the P5+1 entered into negotiations with the aim of finding a win-win solution to the dispute on Tehran’s nuclear energy program and if talks collapse, it will definitely be against the interests of both sides. As Iranian IRNA informs, Monday’s edition of “Iran Daily” writes about this.

In fact, both Iran and the P5+1 have no alternative but come to a nuclear deal and that’s what political logic dictates. Or else they will have to pay a heavy price, underscored the English-language daily in its Opinion column (pg.2).

President Hassan Rouhani’s certainty about a final agreement with major powers is a realistic approach which stems from the terms of the interim deal with the P5+1, stressed the paper.

A look at the decade-long course of nuclear talks with world powers shows that current negotiations are on the right track and making progress. Rouhani has focused on nuclear talks to bring the country out of recession. He believes economic problems and other political, social and even ideological issues are tied to the settlement of the nuclear standoff, it noted.

The situation in the Middle East is grave with ISIL terrorists perpetrating crimes against humanity in Iraq and Syria. The continuation of such a situation is not in the interest of Iran or the P5+1, especially the US. So it lends a particular urgency to successful nuclear talks. Both sides should show courage and make proper decisions in this respect, suggested the paper in conclusion.
