Another coal mine collapses in Turkey

A coal mine in Turkey’s Karaman province has collapsed, leaving 23 people under the rubble. Trend news agency writes about this referring to TRT Haber TV channel.

According to the source, eight people have already been rescued.

Currently, the operations to rescue the miners trapped under the rubble are underway.

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz and Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lutfi Elvan have gone to the scene of the accident, according to the TV channel.

A fire occurred at Isiklar coal mine in the Soma city of Turkey’s Manisa province on Oct.27.

No injuries were reported, as 301 workers of the mine were evacuated.
