V. Yanukovich: Ukraine has intention to sign the association agreement in the near future

President of Lithuania that chairs in the EU now Dalia Grybauskaitė states that the Ukrainian President is not ready to sign EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Accoridng to UNIAN Info, She said this before the Eastern Partnership Summit. “I can said that the Ukrainian people is disappointed with the decision of the Ukrainian government”, – she noted.

Ukraine-EU relations are one of the most discussed and important for the Vilnius summit. 

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in his turn confirmed his country’s intention to sign the association agreement in the near future, the same source states.

Addressing the plenary meeting of the Vilnius summit Viktor Yanukovych said Ukraine and EU are on the final stage of the association agreement. “I am sure that this will open a new page in the development of the state of Ukraine, bring our relations with the EU and member states to a new stage. I confirm Ukraine’s intention to sign the association agreement in the near future,” he especially underlined.
