On March 9 the participants of the European Individual Chess Championship visited Mother See Holy Etchmiadzin and met Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin the Second. Press service of Mother See Holy Etchmiadzin informs about this.
On the beginning of the meeting founding-chairman of the Armenian Chess Academy Smbat Lputian presented the participants and the results which were shown during the championship.
His Holiness welcomed the chess-players at Holy Etchmiadzin. Referring to Armenian attitude towards chess, Garegin the Second underlined that this game had important role to establish friendship between various nations.
On the end of the meeting His Holiness answered to the questions by the participants about various issues, including the history of Armenian Church, its role and the Nagorno-Karabkh issue.
