390 people are released from the prisons in Syria
390 people who were involved in the recent events were released on Monday. Syrian SANA news agency informs about this.
A number of the release people said that this marks a fresh start for them, allowing them to return to their normal lives.
Syria has released thousands of detainees in the past months as part of President Bashar al-Assad’s reform program and under a presidential amnesty in January for crimes committed during the country's months-long unrest. Iranian Press TV informs about this.
Syria has been the scene of deadly unrest since mid-March, 2011 and many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
