A blast in  Central Istanbul, Sultanahmet district

The city authorities report about an explosion in a district of Istanbul. At least 10 people have been killed because of explosion.
The Istanbul’s Governor’s Office confirmed the reports about 15 wounded people.
The explosion occurred just after 10 : 00 local time in the Sultanahmet district, close to the Blue Mosque.
According to several reports there is an assumption that the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber.
The Governor’s Office reported that the authorities are investigating the type of explosive used and the area has been sealed off.
The BBC’s Mark Lowen in Istanbul reports that in recent months there have been a few attacks by a far-left group in Istanbul as the conflict between Turkish forces and PKK Kurdish militants was existent mainly in southeast Turkey.
The Islamic State group is also blamed for bomb attacks in Turkey.
Two suicide blasts in the capital Ankara in October killed more than 100 people and more than 30 people were killed in an attack near the border with Syria in July.
