Kessab hit by two rockets

Kessab was hit by two GRAD missiles in mainly Armenian-populated city in Syria, at 3:15p.m. on Wednesday, Asbarez reports, quoting Zarmig Boghigian, executive editor of Gandzasar newspaper.

The missiles came from the Turkish border, according to Boghigian.

One of the rockets landed on the street behind the Holy Trinity Armenian Evangelical Church, while the other landed a 55 yards from the Kessab mosque.

The missiles caused heavy damage with one injury reported.

Kessab residents, especially children who were playing in their yard were severely shocked by the attack.

Islamic militants affiliated with al Qaeda attacked Kessab, bringing the city under siege for three months and forcing its population to flee to nearby Lattakia and elsewhere in March 2014.

Forces Liberated Kessab in June 2014, paving the way for families to return to their home, which were looted and destroyed by the Turkish-backed Muslim militants.
