Decline in losses of electric power

Yervand Zakharyan, Armenia’s minister of energy and natural resources, summed up the accomplishments in his sector, highlighting that the reduced losses are a major achievement.

“The power stations in Armenia had a total output of 7.8Kwt/hour of electric energy last year,” Yervand Zakharyan announced, pointing out that the losses reduced to 11.1% against the 12.73% in 2014.

The company exported 1.4 billion Kwt/hour of power last year, with the total supply to the consumers amounting to 5.5 Kwt/hour, he added.

The surges in the consumer tariffs that worsened the population’s condition last year was a forced measure which the ministry didn’t wish to undertake.
