Gas price revision under discussion

Ervand Zakharyan, Armenia’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced on Thursday that Armenia’s gas imports from Russia was 1,920.9m cubic meters and from Iran, 371m cubic meters, last year.

Armenia’s gas imports from Russia decreased by 6.8%, the primary reason of which was a decline in domestic consumption.

Thermal power plants reduced gas consumptions, and in-process losses reached 6.2%.

Concerning the Armenian government’s request for a gas price revision by Russia, Mr Zakharyan confired that Armenian government applied to Russia for a price revision, and the issue is being negotiated now.

“I cannot say anything about expectations, but we are doing our best for the price to be revised,” Mr Zakharyan added.

No final decision has so far been reached.
