European Parliament calls on Russia not to interfere in conflicts of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova

Russia must stop any direct or indirect intervention in the existing conflicts of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine and must not interfere in the moves of those countries that try to establish close relations with the European Union.

As reports “Armenpress” citing Deutsche welle- this is stated in the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on 21 January.

In the resolution, the European Parliament welcomes the progress registered in Kiev, Chisinau and Tbilisi.

At the same time, the EP noted that these three countries still have unresolved issues.

In particular, it is noted that in Georgia there are problems associated with the independence of the justice system.

Speaking about Ukraine the European Parliament’s pointed out that the main obstacle to the Ukraine’s rapprochement with the European Union remains corruption.

The European Parliament welcomed the Commission’s decision to eliminate the visa regime with Georgia and Ukraine and expressed hope that the Council of Europe and EU member states very soon will take measures in order to have visa-free communication with these countries.
