Iran signed oil supply contact with French Total

National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has signed a contract with the French Total oil company, reports “Armenpress” citing Iranian “Mehr ” news agency.

This contract is to allow Iran to buy 150-200 thousand barrels of oil per day.

According to the agency, Total is not the first oil customer of Iran after the sanctions were lifted.
Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister Roknodin Javadi did not specify which country was the first to sign such a contract.

Javadi citing the plan of 2.3 million barrels of oil export next year, said that the increase of oil production and export by 500 thousand barrels will be a reality.

Iran is currently negotiating with a number of customers in Europe, such as Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Greece and the UK.

In recent weeks, Iran has signed contacts with a number of European oil companies, including Italian Saipem and Naples, Russian Lukoil and a number of Asian companies.

In 2012 before the imposed sanctions, EU imported approximately 800 thousand oil and condensate, reports “Interfax”.
