Saudi Arabia and Turkey to conduct military operations in Syria

Saudi Arabia and Turkey set up a body responsible for conducting military operations a few weeks ago, reports the Guardian newspaper, citing its sources in Riyadh.

Syria’s anti-terrorist operations will be coordinated with Turkey, which is to send several thousand special troops to Syria.

It is noted that the two countries want to overthrow Bashar al-Assad’s regime and have serious doubts over the prospects of a political settlement of the Syrian crisis without additional military pressure on Damascus.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Ahmed Asserin yesterday announced the readiness to start a land war in Syria, if he is supported by the US-led coalition.

International Media reports that the agreement with Riyadh and Ankara on sending troops to Syria has been recently reached.
