US to take on ‘plan b’ if Syrian ceasefire violated
According to The Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon and CIA officials are required to prepare a ‘Plan B’, in case of violation of the ceasefire in Syria.
In fact, they are convinced that Russia will be the one to be blamed and already offer new sanctions against Russia and are to help rebels in Syria to fight government forces.
The US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter, the US Armed Forces General Staff’s Chief General Joseph Dandorf and CIA director John Brennan said that Russia will do anything to violate the ceasefire.
They have urged the US president to "create serious trouble for Russia" at the meeting held at the White House.
It is expected that the official recommendation of the Pentagon's ‘plan B’, appealing to Barack Obama, will represent a broad range of investigative reports and support for Syrian "moderate opposition", as well as new sanctions against Russia. In particular, Carter believes that the approval of the Syrian ceasefire is a ‘trap.’
