ARF-D’s sway be higher after next election-lawmaker

Aghvan Vardanyan, a lawmaker from the coalition Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D) says he foresees good chances for their political force to increase its role in the legislature after the 2017 parliamentary election.

Aghvan Vardanyan said he doesn’t link the higher advantages to the recently signed coalition agreement with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, speaking to reporters at the National Assembly.

“We have to be objective in our evaluations, whether in coalition with, or without the authorities. [In the parliamentary] election in 2007, the ARF-D secured 178,000 votes which was 17%, and in the most recent elections, we received 12,000 votes or 5% and a little more.

I give my assurances that the Dashnaksutyun’s sway in the National Assembly will be higher after the next election,” he noted.
