VAT for imported cars from EEU countries lifted

Citizens will no longer pay value added tax for the imported cars from Eurasian Economic Union countries. To this end, the government made an amendment to a previously decided and approved the “About Value Added Tax” draft, which was regarded urgent.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reform Vache Gabrielyan said that by this project the VAT taxation of imported cars from EEU countries is eliminated and the citizens will not pay for VAT.

In his turn, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said that once a year a car importer can be exempted from VAT payment if the car is for his personal use.
