Today’s event was attended also by Minister of Finance Gagik Khachatryan, Head of the Armenia-Austria Parliamentary Friendship Group Vahram Baghdasaryan, a deputy minister of foreign affairs, Ashot Hovakimyan, and responsible officials from the presidential staff, reports the presidential press service.

Given that Ambassador Arman Kirakosyan also heads Armenian mission to different international organizations based in Vienna, the participants addressed also the country’s possible cooperation prospectives with those organizations.

Highlighting the achievements reached on the bilateral and multi-lateral levels, President Sargsyan addressed also the existing problems and issues requiring Armenia’s attention to assist in the diplomatic mission’s work.

“Austria is extremely important for us with its development experience, as it has reached success in information technologies, and almost all the spheres of development,” the Armenian leader said, emphasizing particularly the country’s experience in medicine, tourism agriculture and infrastructure development.

“It is our duty to develop those trends. The accomplishments are visible but not satisfactory. I think we have a great opportunity to attract Austrian investments, especially in industries, as Austria has many powerful companies which makes investments in many countries worldwide.

Though small in dimensions, Armenia has nonetheless become a member of the Eurasian Economic Union which opens up vast opportunities in this respect.”
