A number of media closed in Turkey

According to the decision of the court in Turkey, Kanaltürk, Bugün TVchannels , Gazetesi, Millet Gazetesi newspapers and Kanaltürk Radyo radio station were closed, reports “Armenpress” citing the Turkish Hurriyet newspaper.

It is noted that the media have been closed in the main office of the Koza İpek Holding and in the framework of the 23 criminal cases against the company, which, according to the Turkish authorities, are accused of financing Fethullah Gülen’s (Islamic figure living in the US) Movement.

Last year, the police conducted a search at the main office of the Koza İpek Holding Company and in its 23 subsidiary.

According to the court order, the abovementioned media were included in that company.

Actions are periodically taken against Gulen supporters.

The last major operation was carried out in the home office of the Koza Ipek Holding which is considered to be the proponent of Gulen.

The movement of the influential religious leader Fethullah Gulen, which is also regarded to be Nur (nurchular) , is a strong movement preaching modern Islam.

It preaches moderation, tolerance, inter-religious dialogue, compatibility of Islam and democracy.
Now Erdogan is trying to get to Gulen’s extradition from the United States, where he has lived since 1998.

Gülen, for its part, has become one of the most important critics of Erdogan.
