April defined as Genocide prevention month in Georgia State

The US Georgia State’s Senate proclaimed April as a Genocide Prevention and Awareness Month.
As reports “Armenpress”, the corresponding resolution was adopted on 17 February.

As a justification for the resolution, it is highlighted that April is notorious for its genocides throughout history or events that led up to the genocide.

The term ‘Genocide’ as the elimination of a national, ethnic or religious group in whole or partially, proposed by Raphael Lemkin was defined in a view of elimination of Armenians and other Christian nations in April.
