US Armenian Community welcomes NKR's recognition by Georgia State
The Armenian American community welcomed the House of US Georgia state's 1580 draft Resolution on recognition of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh, reports "Armenpress" citing ANCA.
The authors and proponents of the draft resolution are Pat Gardner and Demetrius Douglas.
"Georgia's Armenian community welcomes the recognition of NKR, submitted by the representatives Gardner and Douglas, which reaffirms the universality of human rights and freedom.
After accepting such a proud and principled stance, now we pass to other American states to join Georgia on the recognition of Artsakh issue, "said Sarkis Aghasargsyan, who has worked with the authors of the draft resolution.
Georgia is the sixth US state to recognize the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. Before that similar resolutions have been passed by California, Louisiana, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Main’s legislative bodies.
