MEPs call for lifting individual sanctions on Vladimir Putin

MEPs have called head of European diplomacy Federica Mogeriniin to lift individual sanctions on Vladimir Putin and another 28 people over the case of Nadezhda Savchenko, reports “Armenpress”.

In a letter written by 57 parliamentarians is presented the list of those, who according to European Parliament members ‘ are responsible for kidnapping Savchenko, illegally moving her to Russia and filing for false allegations of political decision against her.’

Sanctions must be lifted on those who are responsible for the “legalization of Russia’s actions in the eyes of the international community as well.”

Besides Putin, the list includes the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, head of the State Duma International Affairs Committee Alexei Pushkov, head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrikine, leader of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic Igor Plotnitskin, as well as a group of investigators, judges and other officials, MEP Jacek Saryusz-Wolski from Poland has posted on his Twitter account.
