Armenian Government handed passports to Armenian-Syrians in Damascus

On January 24 Armenian-Syrians were accepted at the Armenian Embassy in Syria. The aim of the meeting was handing the passports to the Syrian-Armenians. Press and information department of Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs about this.
Head of the Armenian diocese in Damascus Armash bishop Nalbandyan and leaders of the Armenian unions in Damascus attended the event.
Armenian Ambassador to Syria handed the passports to the Armenian-Syrians and they became the citizens of the Republic of Armenia. Then Mr. Ambassador wished peace and success to the Armenian community in Syria.
After the official ceremony of handing the religious leaders delivered speeches. They rated the decision by Armenian Government to hand the passports just in Damascus and thanked Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. They hoped that Armenian Government will continue its support to Armenian-Syrians as they need it now most of all.
