Iran and Iraq hope Syrian problem will be settled by negotiations

The speaker of Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Larijani made the remarks on Saturday evening during a joint press conference with his visiting Iraqi counterpart Usama al-Nujaifi. Iranian IRNA writes about this.
Larijani stressed that military operations will solve no problem in Syria.
He hoped that his talks with al-Nujaifi on expansion of bilateral cooperation as well as the settlement of the Syrian crisis would be fruitful.
Turning to the terrorist activities in the region, he said the US has now realized that military action in Syria will create many problems for Washington.
Larijani reiterated that any military attack against Syria without the United Nations Security Council permission will be in fact violation of the international law which leads to further global and regional insecurity.
He believed military action against Syria will have very dire consequences and set a fire in the region.
The Iraqi official, for his part, said cooperation between Baghdad and Tehran to settle the Syrian crisis is of high significance.
He said not military intervention but political negotiations which would engage all warring parties could pave the way for establishment of democracy there.
The Iraqi speaker referred to cooperation among Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Saudi Arabia as an appropriate way to bring democracy to Syria.
He said any military intervention in Syria on the pretext of eliminating chemical weapons will only spread crisis in the whole region with Iraq suffering the most.
