Bashar al-Assad: We do not need chemical weapons to blind Israel in an instant

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad announces that he does not need chemical weapons to “challenge Israel” and “blind [it] in an instant,” according to recent remarks reported in the Arab Freebeacon.com writes about this.

Assad announced during the interview with the Levanese media that Syrian weapons are “more sophisticated than chemical weapons”.

“We now possess deterrent weapons that are more important and more sophisticated than chemical weapons,” Assad was quoted as telling visitors to his presidential palace late Thursday, according to Iran’s state-run Mehr News Agency.

“We created chemical weapons in the ’80s as a deterrent against Israel’s nuclear arsenal. Today, it is no longer a weapon of deterrence”, Syrian President underlined.

Syrian war is lasting more than two years and the USA claims that Syrian Government uses chemical weapon. The US threatens to start military actions against Syria.

U.N. inspectors are scheduled to begin inspecting the country’s chemical stockpiles next week.
