S. Manukyan: Western forces are not ready for the serious military actions in Syria
There is a concrete Western program today which aims to remove Bashar al-Assad from the authority and to redecorate the geopolitical map of the Middle East by settling Syrian issue. These actions aim to reduce the dangers coming from Iran. Expert on Arabia, deputy director of Armenian Genocide Institute-Museum Suren Manukyan announced about this during the press-conference today.
According to the speaker Syrian crisis is a long-term process and it has its influence on the regional and geo-political developments. “This is a civilian conflict which may last even some years. Anyway no solution is seen for it in a year”.
Referring to Turkish jet which was shot in Syria S. Manukyan said that it was not the first flight and it was a planned provocation against Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
“This case means that the Syrians are making a gesture and want to make the neighbors to realize that they start firm relations with them”, Manukyan underlined and added that Syria has got assistance from Russia.
According to the speaker the last developments show that the West is not still ready for the military actions. “It will not become a reason for the war but will show that Syria is decisive as it has Russian assistance”.
The expert underlined that official Moscow obviously assists Syria and says that it will not let the Libyan scenario to be repeated here as well.
