IMF director: Armenia is a trusted countrepart

On the last day of his visit to the USA Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting with head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagard. Press service of Armenian Government informs about this. 

According to the source, Armenian PM rated IMF’s role in economical development and reforms in Armenia. 

“IMF has been and remains our important countrepart in macroeconomical issues. Macroeconomical stability is one of the most important achievements of the Republic of Armenia since the independence, and IMF assisted this process very much”, said Hovik Abrahamyan. The PM also noted that the IMF three-year plan on the begining of the year means new round of the Armenian economical development. H. Abrahamyan ensured that Armneian Government is ready to continue economical development.

IMF Director Christine Lagard welcomed Hovik Abrahamyan and rated further cooperation with Armenia. “IMF is a big family and Armenia is a full member of it. Armenia is a trusted countrepart and we will continue the cooperation with Armenia to assist its economical reforms”, the IMF director especially stated.

Some other issues of bilateral interest were on agenda of the meeting as well.
