Possible ARF- RPA coalition of no importance- Aghasi Yenokyan

Political scientist Aghasi Yenokyan told reporters on Friday that the possible coalition of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) is of no importance.

According to the political scientist the ARF-D will certainly agree to a coalition.

“Whatever ARF-D members claim – as if their step is aimed at saving the homeland – the reality is that he are seeking to be closer to power.

Moreover, he ARF-D will be closer to the state budget.

Another task is to be closer to the regional administration and votes,” Mr Yenokyan said.
“The Republican Party of Armenia has a clear majority, does it need a coalition? It is the ruling force in any way,” He added.

He points out the question of why the RPA needs the ARF-D.

One of the opinions is sharing responsibility, which, he said, is absurd.

“Another thesis is that Serzh Sargsyan needs ARF-D structures in the Armenian Diaspora as the Diaspora has always followed the Homeland’s orders.

Another sentimental opinion is that Serzh Sargsyan is thus compensating for the disintegration of the opposition by the ARF-D,” Mr Yenokyan said.
