Dereck Hogan, the Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, referred to the incident on the frontline between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops, when Azerbaijanis hit Armenian helicopter.

“We regret for the escalating tension over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”, he told journalists, Azerbaijani media report.

“The latest incident once more reminded us of the importance of the peaceful resolution of the conflict”, he said.

The diplomat said they have called on the sides to avoid doing anything that would possibly aggravate the situation.

“We call on both sides to focus on the peace negotiations”, he added, according to the source.
