Armenian chess-player H. Melkumyan is the 7th at Basel open

Armenian GM Hrant Melkumyan scored 5 points out of 7 and took the 7th place among 89 participants at the open that was held in Basel, Switzerland.

Melkumyan was only half a point behind GMs Boris Grachev (Russia), Levente Vajda (Romania), Robin Van Kampen (Netherlands) and Andrej Istratescu (France).

By the tie-break the winner was Grachev.
