CEC announced names of eight candidates for Presidential election

Central Electoral Committee accepted today without any election the decision to register the following people as the candidates for the President: Serzh Sargsyan, chairman of Armenian Republican Party; Paruyr Hayrikyan, chairman of the “National self-determination union” party; Raffi Hovhannisyan, chairman of the “Heritage” party; Hrant Bagratyan, chairman of the “Freedom” party; Aram Harutyunyan, chairman of the “National agreement” party and non-partial Arman Meliqyan, Andrias Ghukasyan, Vardan Sedrakyan.

Seven other participants presented the initial applications but they did not present all necessary documents and that is why their candidacies were not accepted.
