Sumgait massacre victims were commemorated in Minsk

On February 28 Armenian Embassy in Belarus and the Armenian community representatives in Minsk visited Armenian cross-stone memorial and organized an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Sumgait massacres. Press and information department of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs about this.

Armenian Ambassador to Belarus Armen Khachatryan delivered speech.

Mr. Ambassador especially noted that Sumgait massacres were just the continuing of the massacres which Azerbaijanis started against Armenians on the beginning of 20th century. “That crime was stopped only by the Artsakh self-protection”.

The event participants commemorated memory of Sumgait massacres with a minute silence and put garland at the memorial.
