Georgian PM accused Georgian President in making irresponsible statements

“Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement has not been coordinated with the Foreign Ministry and doesn’t demonstrate the government’s position,” said Georgia’s Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili. Azerbaijani media inform about this.

He accused the President of making irresponsible statements in recent days: “His statements are contrary to integration of the Georgian government into Europe and Euro-Atlantic structures. Saakashvili’s term of office will expire in October this year. Till then, the President is acting on his own initiative, his visits are not coordinated with the Foreign Ministry and statements don’t demonstrate the position of the Georgian government. I advise Saakashvili not to create additional problems for the government. We regret it and apologize to the countries that found themselves in unpleasant situation due to the president’s statement,” he said.

Bidzina Ivanishvili did not concretely mention the president’s statement.
