Victims of Sumgait were commemorated in Egypt

On March 4 victims of Sumgait massacres were commemorated at Cairo St. Gregory Illuminator. As press and information department of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs holy mass was served at the Church.

After the holy mass Armenian Ambassador to Egypt Armen Melqonyan accompanied with the representatives of Armenian Community in Egypt and Armenian diocese put garland at the monument dedicated to the victims of Armenian Genocide victims.

On the 24t anniversary of the Armenian massacres in Sumgait Egyptian the most authoritative “Al Ahram” newspaper published the report named “Armenians were massacred” written by Armenian Ambassador to Egypt Armen Melqonyan.
