Ambassador: “Number of the tourists from Italy has been increased for three times during three years”

On March 20 Armenian Ambassador to Italy Ruben Karapetyan had a meeting with Italian Minister of regional affairs, tourism and sport Piero Gnudi. Press and information department of RA MFA informs about this. During the meeting the sides discussed Armenian-Italian cooperation on the noted spheres and touched upon the ways to deepen teh existing cooperation.

Armenian Ambassador informed Italian Minister that the volume of tourism between two countries has been increased significantly since 2009 when the air connection was restored between two countries. During this period the number of the tourists from Italy has been increased for three times and on 2011 it was 18 % of the whole index.

Ambassador also informed that during a year two Armenian-Italian conferences on tourism have been created in Venice and Calare. A business conference is planned to hold on March 30 in frame of the project “From St. Ghazar to Armenia”. The conference will have a headline “Armenia: opportunities of tourism developments”. Cooperation on legal sphere between the sides was also rated.
