80 new buses will serve Yerevan population since today

Today 249 buses from the Chinese People’s Party were officially presented and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Mayor Taron Margaryan attened the ceremony.

T. Margaryan presented short introduction about the buses to Mr. President and after it S. Sargsyan tried the bus No 22 and left for Shahumyan Square.

Note that the buses are Chinese gift to Yerevan municipality. 80 buses will start to serve people since today. The buses will work with 6 directions: 3, 32, 38, 54, 28 and 22. 1500 micro buses will remain in the service. Note that there are 2600 buses now.

Head of the transport and connection department of the Yerevan municipality Navasardyan told journalists that 10-15 buses will work at every direction and the buses will be at stations with 8-10 minute breaks.

He also noted that these buses will serve for free today by the initiative of Yerevan Mayor and the municipality will discuss the changes of the directions during coming week.
