On March 26 Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan met US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta. Press service of Armenian Ministry of Defense informs about this.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and referred also to the regional issues. Secretary Panetta welcomed Armenian reforms in the defense sphere and assured once more US readiness to assist Armenia in this way. US military official thanked Armenia for the significant assistance in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

Armenian Minister of Defense noted in his speech that Armenia would continue constantly to fulfill the Armed Forces development program and would expect the assistance of the counterparts including the US assistance. S. Ohanyan also confirmed Armenian readiness to continue peacekeeping mission in frame of the international programs.

Armenian Minister of Defense also had some other meetings in Washington and Armenian-US cooperation on military sphere was discussed.
