Mashtots Park is still quiet: actions are expected at 13:00

Issue of the kiosks in Mashtots Park remains unsettled. The activists announced that today, on March 31, at 13:00 o’clock they will remove the kiosks from the park by their own forces. The have spread an announcement about their decision and at the same time they warned the Police do not make obstacles for them while fulfilling their work.

Armenian Police released another announcement in its turn and warned the activists that their plans are illegal. “The illegal actions may be considered as the violation of the law and may cause responsibility. Armenian Police warns once more that any administrative act connected with the constructive works at the park may be discussed only in the court. Any violation of others’ constitutional rights and the violation of the public discipline will bring the responsibility if the legal bases exist. ”

Note that Armenian Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasyan also applied to the activists and called on them to refuse the illegal actions. “Even the illegal action may not be prevented illegally”, the Defender especially underlined.

Now the situation is calmer at the Park. Some constructive works are held there. The activists provided online connection from the park some minutes ago but they have announced that the connection will be cut off at 13:00 in order more people to come to the park and support the activities’ actions.
