Armenian journalists killed in Turkey will be commemorated

Today on April 6, an event is organized in Turkey which will commemorate memory of Armenian journalists killed in Turkey.

As Turkish media inform Armenian journalists Grigor Zohrap and Tigran Qeqelyan will be commemorated this year. These people were included in the list of the journalists last year.

“There is no doubt that there are more killed Armenian journalists than they are noted in the list of Turkish Journalists’ union. For example nine people are noted in the list by the Turkish current Union of the Journalists, but according to some sources 31 Armenian journalists were killed in Turkey on the beginning of the century”, Turkish source writes.

Many Armenian journalists were killed during the Armenian Genocide. At this term Armenian intellectuals were killed first of all in order not to have any opportunity to organize any self-protection,

Murder of Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant Dink was the last great scandal in Turkey. The case is not found out yet. The court trial is lasting for years.
