A.A. Salehi: “West has come to realize that Iran will continue its activities”

As it was informed before negotiations of Iranian nuclear program by G5+1 format was held inIstanbul,Turkey, on April 14, Saturday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Islamic Republic of Iran and the Group 5+1 have reached a common understanding inIstanbul, IRNA writes.

European Union’s Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton also referred to the theme saying thatIranand the Group 5+1 held nuclear talks in a positive atmosphere in the Turkish resort city ofIstanbul.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov considers that the Group 5+1 has confirmed the entitlement of the Islamic Republic of Iran to peaceful nuclear energy based on non-proliferation treaty (NPT).

Salehi noted that the West has come to realize thatIranwill continue its activities irrespective of the extent of pressures exerted on that country.

“We are trying to wrap up this false dossier which has been plotted for the Islamic Republic of Iran. This would benefit bothIranand the West,” the minister added.

He pointed out thatIranis seriously against the proliferation of nuclear weapons throughout the world.

“Our main aim was to see whether we could move towards a sustainable process in the field of holding talks withIranin order to make sure thatIranfulfills its international obligations,” Ashton told BBC Farsi service in an exclusive interview.

Asked about the atmosphere of talks inIstanbul, she noted that she believed that the talks took place positively.

Ashton noted that the next round of talks betweenIranand G5+1 will be held in the Iraqi capital,Baghdadon May.

Ryabkov made the above remarks in an interview with the Russian news agency Itar-Tass inMoscowon Sunday.

“The reality is that all participants in the nuclear talks betweenIranand the Group 5+1 inIstanbulofficially recognized and confirmedIran’s right to peacefully nuclear energy according to NPT,” the Russian official added.

“We achieved important agreements during the talks and came to valuable terms during the talks,” Ryabkov added.

Note thatIranis pressed by the West with announcements and sanctions to stop the nuclear enrichment but Iranian authorities claim that the program is just for the peace civilian needs.
